Pneumatic pulse soot blower is an upgraded product based on explosion cleaning system. It utilizes shock wave generated by instant pressure relief of compressed air to clean boiler soot deposit.
Shock wave cleaning by detonation of acetylene has problems in practice, such as high operation cost, misfire and backfire. To solve the problem, we develop pneumatic pulse soot blower, which consumes compressed air instead of acetylene.
When high pressure air stored in closed space gets into contact with low pressure air within a short time, at front edge it would occur pressure wave, which will turn into shock wave if it is strengthened and accelerated repeatedly. The formation and strength of shock wave depends on their momentary contact duration. The time is shorter, the wave is stronger.
Pneumatic pulse soot blower is based on this principle. It uses compressed air to create shock pulse inside specially designed shock wave generator. Shock wave comes out of nozzle at a speed Mach 2-5, and propagates spherically.When shock wave meets with boiler ash & slag on tube surface, its powerful energy would destroy the accumulation and make them fall down. Finally, shock wave is weakened and turns into sound wave. This system combines impact force and acoustic energy to achieve soot removal.
