Electrostatic & fabric hybrid dust collector is a combination of electrostatic precipitator and fabric filter.
ESP has been used for decades of years in thermal power plant in China. It is featured with low pressure drop and long service life, but its dust collection performance is greatly influenced by dust composition and particle size. Dust emission is difficult to be lower than 50mg/Nm3.
Fabric filter is a dust collector featured with high dust removal efficiency. Its dust emission is usually lower than 50mg/Nm3.
To achieve better dust collection efficiency, electrostatic & fabric hybrid dust collector perfectly combines the advantages of ESP and fabric filter. There are generally two types.
One is called advanced hybrid particulate collector. Filter bags are placed directly between ESP collection plates. Perforated collection plates allow dust to reach the bags. Most dusts are collected on plates before they reach the bags. The diagram is shown as below.
The other one is called compact hybrid particulate collector widely used in China. ESP and fabric filter is put in series, and fabric filter is downsteam of ESP. Compact hybrid particulate collector has separated or integral structure shown as below.
Most of dust will be catched in the electric field of ESP, the rest fine particulates are collected by the fabric bags. This low-dust loading for filter bags allows flue gas passing through at a high velocity without concern for secondary fugitive dust.
