Guillotine damper, also known as slide gate damper, is used to close off hot/cold primary air entering coal pulverizer in thermal power plant. It is designed to isolate hot air for emergency shutdown or a safe working environment during maintenance. Guillotine damper is also used as shutoff damper for flue gas in HRSG or boiler.
Motorized guillotine damper is driven by electric actuator, which drives screw rod to make axial movement. Axial movement will push forward or pull back guillotine gate through bushing sleeve to execute open or close operation.
Pneumatic guillotine damper is driven by air cylinder. When it is to close off the duct, air cylinder pushes guillotine into place. Then the other air cylinder will pull crank to lock down the gate through cam mechanism. Damper seat is in close contact with packing material. Flow of fluids is cut off. When it is to reopen the duct, air cylinder operates oppositely.
