Application

 

Ammonia solution is an efficient reagent for NOx reduction to control emissions in power plant. Known as aqueous ammonia, it is safer than anhydrous ammonia, and more efficient than urea.

There are generally two designs for ammonia solution preparation system. One is by packing column with capacity 50~50000Kg/h, one is an integrated system with capacity 50~5000Kg/h.

 

Ammonia solution preparation by packing column

 

Anhydrous ammonia passes through filter, flow meter and control valve then enters packing column. At the same time, desalted water also enters packing column and mixes with anhydrous ammonia. Desalted water pipeline is equipped with flow meter, shut-off valve and control valve, etc. At aqueous ammonia outlet, there is concentration analyzer, which gives feedback to adjust water flow and reflux flow. When ammonia solution reaches desired concentration, output valve will open automatically. A heat exchanger is equipped for heat transfer between ammonia solution and anhydrous ammonia. Qualified ammonia solution will be stored in tank.

 

Parameter of aqua ammonia could be displayed in remote control system. Local temperature gauge, pressure gauge is provided for inspection people. Explosion-proof control panel could achieve start/stop with just one click.

 

Ammonia solution preparation by integrated system

 

An integrated system would vaporize anhydrous ammonia into gas phase first, then dissolve it into water to get aqueous ammonia. Heat released from ammonia dissolution into water could be utilized to vaporize anhydrous ammonia. There is no need for additional heat source, and ammonia solution is cooled down during heat transfer. To cool ammonia solution further to normal temperature, cooling water is necessary to take away some heat.
