Application

 

Rotary ash cooler is used to cool down bottom ash of CFB boiler in power plant. Temperature of hot ash above 1000℃ is reduced to 80~100℃ in a short time by cooling water. Bottom ash could be used as building material after processing. A rotary ash cooler consists of feeding & discharging unit, drum body, driving system, cooling water system, control system, etc.

 

Functions of rotary ash cooler:

 

  1. Ash cooling.
  2. Furnace pressure stabilization.
  3. Heat recovery.
  4. Ash conveying.

 

Features rotary ash cooler:

 

  1. Chain driving system makes drum rotate precisely. Slipping of drum caused by roller driving is avoided.
  2. VFD (variable frequency driving) makes drum rotation speed adjustable according to boiler ash output.
  3. Cooling water temperature alarm. Cooling water overpressure alarm & relief. Automatic shutdown when cooling water is off.
  4. Mechanical sealing at feeding & discharge port, and connection of rotating parts.
  5. Easy replacement of wearing parts.
  6. Compact structure, no vibration, low power consumption, stable operation.

 

Cooling water consumption (W, m3) for one ton of ash could be calculated by this:

 

W=0.24 * (T1-T2) ÷ (Te-Tt)

 

T1-T2: temperature difference between input and output ash.
Te-Tt: temperature difference between input and output water.
