Introduction

 

Pulse jet baghouse filter is widely used for dust collection in power plant, cement plant, iron & steel works, glasswork, chemical plant, building materials industry, etc.

 

Off-line pulse jet greatly improves filter bag cleaning performance and filtration speed. Dust cleaning cycle is extended to 20-30 minutes from 3-5 minutes. Pulse jet baghouse filter could remove dust attached on fabric bags thoroughly with only 1/10 compressed air consumption. Wearing of filter bag and diaphragm of solenoid valve is accordingly reduced. Life span of filter bag and solenoid valve is multiplied.

 

Working principle

 

Dirty air enters compartment upward through ash hopper. Baffle plates help to get even air distribution. Big particles will be separated and fall down into ash hopper, while fine particles will deposit on outer surface of filter bags supported by filter cages. Clean air will pass through filter bags and enter plenum on top of tubesheet. Finally, clean air is charged into atmosphere through poppet valve. As filtration goes on, more and more dusts settle down on fabric bags. There are two cleaning modes.

 

  1. When pressure drop of baghouse filter reaches set value, control system will automatically open pulse jet valve. Compressed air is injected into filter bag and accelerated by venturi nozzle. The rapid compressed air burst will break dust cake, which falls down into ash hopper.
  2. Pulse jet baghouse filter will start cleaning process automatically according to cleaning interval set in control program.
