Flue gas from waste incineration in boiler & kiln contains dioxin, acid gas, heavy metals, which are hazardous to environment and human body. Activated carbon injection system is proven technology for the removal of dioxin, acid gas, mercury. Powdered activated carbon (PAC) is used as sorbent due to high specific surface area.
Venturi eductor is used for the conveying of activated carbon powder. It is a gas solid ejector system powered by pressurized air. In waste incineration power plant, PAC is injected into flue gas duct and finally collected at bag house filter. As flue gas is at low pressure, back pressure of venturi eductor mainly depends on the distance from PAC storage silo to flue gas duct.
When compressed air at 0.5-0.6MPa is used, conveying distance is within 100 meter, lift is within 20 meter, conveying capacity is 5-20Kg/h.
When pressurized air at 20-98KPa from blower is used, air consumption is higher than compressed air under the same conveying capacity. But compressed air would cause a faster duct abrasion due to high velocity.
