Automatic backwash filter

Automatic backwash filter for district heating network is installed on return water pipeline in power plant. It could remove impurities and collect them in filter mesh.

This backwash filter mainly consists of a cylinder made of CS or SS, butterfly valve, and drainage system. When it is in filtration status, butterfly valve is open. Water flows through filter, while impurities are collected inside filter mesh. After some time, solid particles will accumulate and get more and more, effective filtration area is getting smaller, pressure drop is increasing.

When differential pressure before and after filter mesh is up to setting value, butterfly valve is closed and blowdown valve will open. Due to differential pressure, water will flow back automatically. Solid particles inside filter mesh is washed off and gets discharged. When differential pressure is lower than setting value, backwashing and blowdown will be ended.

No shutdown is required for filtration system during backwashing. Cleaning frequency, cleaning duration and manual cleaning function is available.
