Introduction:

 

Pneumatic solids conveying with venturi eductor is widely used to transport various powders and pellets. It is a delivery system featured with clean, efficient, energy saving, flexible layout, etc. Venturi eductor (also named gas solid ejector) is popular in areas like pharmaceutical, food, beverage, chemical, animal feed, pigment & dye, energy, building material, casting, etc.

 

Working principle of venturi eductor:

 

Venturi eductor uses motive air from compressor or blower to induce powders or pellets, such as sand, powdered activated carbon (PAC) for dioxin removal, urea for deNox, limestone & hydrated lime & soda ash for FGD, etc. Bulk solids are fluidized in air flow. They are accelerated by air jet and get discharged at destination. Air will be separated from solids by bag house and released into atmosphere finally. Air from compressor is normally at 0.35-0.7MPa, air from blower is normally at 30-150KPa. Pressure should be decided by air volume, delivery distance, particle size, bulk density, suction lift, etc.

 

Features of venturi eductor:

 

1. Low investment & operation cost. Pneumatic conveying with venturi eductor has no rotary airlock, no moving parts. Operation with low pressure air from blower could save 30% energy compared with compressed air.

2. Easy operation. Only control on rotary feeder and air inlet valve is required. It is a simple switch between ON and OFF. No need for operators on duty. PLC or manual control is provided.

3. Low pipe abrasion, long service life. Transportation speed is low if low pressure air is used, that would result in low abrasion on pipes and equipment.

4. Small size, flexible layout.

5. Low requirement on air quality, no need for air purification system.

6. High reliability. Stable ratio between gas and solids, no impact load, no frequent action of valves, low breakdown.
